Keep the Internet Free -- Preserve Net Neutrality
Internet freedom--the freedom for you to choose which search engines you use, which music stores you use, and which news you read on-line-- is in danger. Big telecommunications and cable companies are lobbying the U.S. Congress (and providing plenty of bribes, errrr, I mean campaign contributions) to wipe out today's even playing field for information on the internet, and create different levels of service for different sites. Legislating net neutrality can prevent this, and allow the person running the browser to decide what he or she views or downloads, not some marketing department or strategic development unit.
Pim and Kate provide excellent summaries of the key issues and plenty of informative links. Visit Save the Internet to inform yourself, take action or read the FAQs.
